Questions about scaling and cleaning
Still have a question? Ask us on WhatsApp.
Does scaling damage my teeth?
No. When done by a dentist, scaling removes only tartar and stains. It does not harm the enamel.
Does it hurt?
Most people feel only some vibration and water. If your gums are very swollen, you may feel a little discomfort. Teeth can feel sensitive for a day or two.
My teeth feel gappy after scaling. Why?
The tartar was filling the spaces between your teeth. As your gums heal and tighten, this feeling usually gets better.
How often should I get scaling?
For most people, every 6 months. People with gum disease or diabetes may need it more often.
